Miniature Painting

Orks and Ash - my current projects

I'm not sure why I don't post about my projects here immediately, but I guess when I finally do get around to it I have a collection of videos to share. These latest projects are all vehicular in nature. The first being the Deathmobile from Army of Darkness (an old Leading Edge Games miniature) and the second being a group of 11 Ork Bikes.

Painting a Dropzone Commander Army (updated)

In my recent video interview I specifically called out my interest in painting an army for Dropzone Commander. It wasn't long after that I got my wish and started work on a Post Human Republic for one of my regular clients. As usual, I started a video series on the project and I will embed them below, but I wanted to talk a bit about the process as a whole before I do that.

Thinning hobby paints for airbrushing

About a year ago I created this video where I talked about how I, up to that point, would thin hobby paints for airbrushing. Since then, it has become one of the most watched videos on my channel. The interesting thing, though is that in the intervening year I pretty much completely changed how I thin my hobby paints.

Repainting FFG's -Wing from Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Game

I don't get to do a lot of personal projects these days. Every now and then I sneak one in and only if it's something that I'm really excited about (which is why I haven't finished an army in years). One of my latest personal projects was repainting one of the new A-Wing miniatures from the Star Wars: X-Wing miniatures Game from Fantasy Flight Games.

2012 - A Year in Review

I put together a gallery of the miniatures that I painted in 2012 on Flicker. 2012 was a pretty productive year overall as you can see from the gallery. I worked it out and in 2012 I painted about 190-200 minis. 2011's count was 185. The numbers are a little wonky because a single 28mm model counts the same as a large vehicle. Still, it's interesting to look at the numbers.
