Dreadfleet (1) Near Completion

It's nearly done. My first set of Dreadfleet is close to completion as you will see in the video below.
It has been quite an interesting project and I have learned a lot throughout the process. I have to admit that I really liked using the guide for painting the ships in the White Dwarf. It meant that if I had trouble coming up with how I wanted to approach a particular color scheme I could just default to the recommended colors in the magazine. Doing that has led me to some interesting revelations regarding Citadels paints and things that you can do with some of their colors that I didn't really notice previously. You can see my previous blog entry regarding the gold colors for part of these revelations, but in addition to that I've also come to love Astronomicon Grey and Dheneb Stone. Both of these colors are part of the Foundation line of Citadel paints and both are fantastic "near white" colors - one cool, the other warm. Both colors work well when you want something to appear white without having to resort to the stark blandness of a pure white paint. Anyway, I may write more on this subject in the future. In the mean time, here's the new video:
